A POI is a Point Of Interest, these are restaurants, hotels, retail stores, etc.
A trip is a collection of one or more destinations that can be optimized in order to find the most efficient route to take to arrive at each of these destinations.
An address book is a collection of one or more destinations that can be easily copied to a trip planner.
Favorites are files containing the locations of top rated businesses, from restaurants to hotels to business services.
Is my USB Drive compatible with OTP?
A large majority of USB Drives are compatible with OTP. USB Drives with file encryption, password protection, thumb-print readers, or other advanced security features may not work with the Hertz NeverLost within your rental car. What is the maximum number of destinations that can be added to each directory?

At the top of the Add a Destination page a message will appear stating the correct spelling for common mis-spellings of the top chains if one is spelled incorrectly.
No, each .nvl file must be uploaded to the NeverLost unit individually. Attempting to save a second .nvl file on the same drive will overwrite the original file.
Yes! Start by clicking on the “Add a Destination” button, then click the “Corridor Search” button. Select two existing points (hotel and airport) or type in the addresses then click “Search”. Type in the destination name and/or select type or destination, corridor width (how wide of a search are between the two points you wish it to search), and number of matches, then click “Search”. A list and map will load with all the destinations between the start and end point and within the corridor width selected.

Under the Plan My Trip tab at the top of the page there is a “To Get Started”
section. This will get you on your way to creating a new directory and planning
a great trip!

There are Up/Down arrows to the left of each destination name. Simply click these arrows to set up your trip.

What is a favorite city guide?
Favorite city guides are detailed lists of the top attractions, restaurants, and
hotels in the 21 top area’s around the country that provide directions
to each location, phone number, and a brief description of what you can expect at
each destination.
Favorite chain files contain all current locations for each particular chain.
Favorite event files contain lists of top attractions, restaurants and hotels in area’s where a special event is being held; the Superbowl, World Series of Poker, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3Expo), etc.
In either your Trip Planner or Address Book it is possible to map all the selected destinations by simply selecting which destinations are to be mapped and clicking the “Map Selected Destinations” button.
Copying destinations between files and address books
Copying files between Trip Planners and Address Books is as simple as clicking a button. Go into whichever files contains the destinations you wish copied. Select the destinations by clicking the box to the left of their name. Then click the “Copy Selected Destinations” button. Select whether you wish to copy the select file(s) to an existing or non-existing trip directory or address book. If saving to an existing directory, select which one from the drop down list and click “Copy Destination(s)”. If saving to a new directory, type the name of this new directory into the text box and click “Copy Destination(s)”.
Optimizing a trip finds the most efficient route between a start point and an end point as well as all selected points in between. To begin, select which points in your trip planner you wish to be optimized. Then, of the selected destinations, select a Start Point and an End Point (hint: both start and end point can be the same, for example if you were leaving the morning from a hotel and returning to that same hotel later in the day), and then click “Optimize Trip”. Displayed will give the most efficient order to travel to each of the selected destinations starting from the selected Start Point and ending with the selected End Point. Also displayed will be a map, providing a visual of where each of the destinations are located.
